Make a start
One step at a time.
3 steps
Start with the synthetic worked example or other non-sensitive inputs. Run one prompt at a time in your chosen AI tool. Replace any bracketed placeholders with the requested material, check each reply, and supply the source or earlier outputs that step needs. Paste them again if the tool lacks that context.
Start with the synthetic example, then adapt each prompt to your task.
01
Open a text assistant and try the example
For a concrete starter route, open https://chatgpt.com and choose New chat. Sign in if that service requires it for your access. You can also use another text assistant you already have. Copy the entire prompt below (the instructions to paste), including the sample input, into its message box and send it. No upload or image generation is needed. Expect a scene layout, decoration sequence, assembly sequence and real-model checks. The wording may differ from the example; the constraints should not. If it only explains the task, ask it to produce the finished result using the supplied input.
Your starting prompt
Write a making plan for a small freestanding cardboard diorama: a miniature scene viewed from the front. Use only the supplied pre-cut pieces and materials. Specify placement, decoration order and assembly order. Avoid structural guarantees or tools not listed. Do not claim a model was built.
Use this complete made-up practice input:
Scene: An invented tiny railway waiting shelter with no train.
Available pre-cut pieces: One cardboard base 20 cm wide by 15 cm deep; one back wall 20 cm wide by 10 cm tall with a folded 2 cm attachment tab already included along its lower edge; two triangular side supports; one small rectangular bench block; one paper timetable rectangle; three paper shrub shapes with folded feet.
Materials: Washable markers and paper tape. No cutting, hot glue, blades, electricity or purchases needed.
Layout: Back wall along rear edge of base; bench near back left; timetable on wall to the right of bench; shrubs along front right without blocking the bench.
Style: Simple drawn brick lines and muted colors. Timetable must show fictional symbols, not real service information.
Need: Adult hobby planning, then actual stability review on a flat table.
Return the finished result. Keep it fictional and do not add claims about real people, products or events.
02
Check, correct and save
Read the response beside the original input. Find only supplied pieces, markers and paper tape in the plan. Check decoration precedes assembly and wall support is checked before adding scenery. Verify the front-right shrubs do not hide the rear-left bench and the timetable uses fictional marks. If a check fails, paste the correction prompt below in the same conversation. Check the revised result yourself, then copy the version you want into your own notes or document.
Your starting prompt
Check your previous result against this original input:
Check these requirements one by one:
- Find only supplied pieces, markers and paper tape in the plan.
- Check decoration precedes assembly and wall support is checked before adding scenery.
- Verify the front-right shrubs do not hide the rear-left bench and the timetable uses fictional marks.
Quote each problem, explain the smallest repair, and return a complete corrected version. If there is no problem, say which checks you applied. Do not claim that your own review proves quality or audience response.

Optional: use your own material
Open a new chat. Copy the prompt below and replace [PASTE YOUR INPUT HERE] with pre-cut pieces and their sizes, supplied materials, scene idea and exclusions. Use material you own or may use and leave out private details. The output limits written in this prompt stay in force; change a limit here too if you want a different one. Send the whole message. Expect the same kind of written result with your new material. Check it against this new input and these limits, not the sample’s names or numbers. If it differs, describe the exact mismatch and ask for a complete correction before saving.
Your starting prompt
Plan a small freestanding cardboard diorama, a miniature scene viewed from the front, using only my pre-cut pieces and materials below. Give placement, decoration and assembly order. Leave real stability and sightline checks for the maker; do not guarantee structure, add tools or claim a model exists.
If an essential detail is missing or two requirements conflict, ask me before filling the gap.

Optional: improve the result
Plan a removable story variation
Change the scene without rebuilding its structure. Keep the first version so you can compare the change. This extension uses the worked example. Return to that example chat, or paste its input and your checked example answer into a new chat first. Do not apply its sample values unchanged to your own input.
Advanced prompt
Suggest two removable paper details that could change the shelter from ordinary day to festival day. List the extra paper needed rather than pretending it is in the original inventory. Keep the wall, supports, bench and sightlines unchanged.
Use the original input and result in this conversation. If either is missing, ask me to paste it before continuing.

01 / The starting point
Synthetic input
Made-up example for practice. All people, places and events are invented.
Copies text only. For image or file tasks, use the source files named in the steps too.
Worked example written for this guide; it is not a recording of an AI run.
Miniature scene plan:
View the 20-by-15 cm base from its 20 cm front edge. The back wall runs across the rear edge. Place the bench near the rear-left corner, a little forward of the wall. Put the paper timetable on the wall to the bench's right. Three shrubs occupy the front-right area while leaving a clear view of the bench.
Decorate before assembly:
1. Draw simple brick lines on the wall, leaving room for the timetable.
2. Color the bench and shrubs with washable markers.
3. Put made-up marks on the timetable so it reads as a story prop, not a real schedule.
4. Add a simple path on the base from front center toward the bench.
Assemble:
1. Set the base on a flat table.
2. Fold the wall's existing tab forward onto the base and tape it down along the rear edge.
3. Tape the two supplied triangular supports between the back wall and base, one toward each side. Inspect whether the wall stands without being held; if it does not, stop and adjust the supports rather than adding height.
4. Attach the timetable flat to the wall.
5. Tape the bench in its planned rear-left position.
6. Tape the shrubs' folded feet to the front-right area.
Final real-model check:
Look from the front: bench and timetable should remain visible. Gently move the base a short distance across the table and check for loose pieces; do not lift it by the wall. This is a proposed assembly plan, and the supplied pieces still need an actual fit and stability check.
These checks use the worked example and its particular facts. With your own material, check your actual names, numbers, sources and rules; do not reuse the sample’s values as the answer.
Unsaved checks stay in this tab and reset when you reload. If you choose Save guide, its current example checkmarks are kept in this browser when storage is available.
!
A few things to watch for.
A text plan cannot prove the cardboard will stand. Check the actual folded tabs and supports before proceeding.
Decorating a vertical assembled wall is awkward. Draw flat first and keep tape areas available.
