What happened
On October 15, Anthropic made Code Review generally available for Claude Team and Enterprise organizations. The announcement says reviews are faster, catch more of the bugs that matter, and let admins pick Quick, Standard, or Deep depth per repository.
Key facts
Status: Out of research preview; available on Team and Enterprise plans. Speed: Anthropic says most reviews now finish about 3× faster (~20 minutes down to 6–10 minutes) versus the preview. Depth controls: Admins choose Quick, Standard (default), or Deep per repo.
Setup: An Owner enables Code Review in Claude Code settings, installs the GitHub App, and selects repos. New repositories default to reviews after every push; admins can select once per PR or manual review. Automatic reviews skip drafts and fork PRs. Hosts: GitHub, including GitHub Enterprise Server and GitHub Enterprise Cloud with data residency (with the GHES admin flow for ghe.com hostnames).
Limits: Not available with Zero Data Retention, HIPAA configuration, or customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK), per the docs. You still need a Claude Team/Enterprise org even if developers run Claude Code through Bedrock, Google Cloud, or Foundry. Billing: Usage credits, separate from plan-included usage; org-level spend limits apply.
Enterprise credits: Eligible Enterprise orgs can claim at least $10,000 in Code Review credits by January 15, 2027 (credits expire 30 days after claim; terms apply). Anyone can still review locally: /code-review inside a Claude Code session works on any plan without the managed service.
A Code Review never approves or blocks a PR; the check run does not fail the build.
How to use it
Coding agents raise how much code lands in review. A managed first pass that posts inline findings before a human looks can shrink the bottleneck — if the noise is low enough that engineers trust it. GA plus per-repo depth and spend caps makes that practical for Team/Enterprise shops that already live in GitHub.
Read the GA announcement and setup docs. Have an Owner enable Code Review, install the GitHub App, pick repos, and set Quick/Standard/Deep plus a monthly spend limit. Reviews follow the repository’s configured trigger; someone with write access can request one with @claude review. Use /code-review in Claude Code when you are not on Team/Enterprise. Turn Claude's findings into something a teammate can re-run with Write a reproducible bug report, and keep each PR's acceptance bar clear with Define done for a small deliverable.
